Commissions
Commissioned paintings are a deeply personal way to collect original artwork. They begin with an idea, a feeling, a memory, a symbol, or a vision that has found its way to you, and they become something we bring into the world together.
When I accept a commission, I am not simply filling a request. I am entering into a creative collaboration with you, while still creating through my own artistic voice, process, and point of view.
Because of that, I take on only a small number of commissions each year.
Commission Books
I open my commission books seasonally, with a limited number of spots available each quarter.
When my books are open, you will be invited to apply for a commission slot and share more about the piece you are hoping for. I review each request carefully and choose the commissions that feel most aligned with my current work, my season, and what I feel I can give my full heart to.
Not every request will be the right fit, and that is part of what allows the finished work to feel honest, thoughtful, and fully cared for.
How It Works
When commission books open, you will be able to submit an application with details about the painting you have in mind.
You may be asked to share things such as:
The size or general scale you are considering
The subject, symbolism, or feeling behind the piece
Where the painting may live
Any meaningful colors, flowers, objects, figures, memories, or references
Your timeline, if there is one
Once applications are reviewed, selected commission clients will be contacted with more details about pricing, timeline, deposit, and next steps.
What I Consider
I am most drawn to commission requests that allow room for beauty, story, symbolism, and emotional depth.
The strongest commissions are usually not exact instructions for an image, but an invitation into an idea. I want to understand what the piece means to you, while still having the freedom to interpret it through my own work.
I may not be the right fit for requests that require copying another artist’s work, matching a very specific style outside my own, recreating a photograph exactly, or creating something that does not feel aligned with the body of work I am currently building.
The Process
Every commission begins with trust.
Once a commission is accepted, we will clarify the overall direction, scale, pricing, and timeline. From there, I will begin developing the piece through my own creative process.
Depending on the nature of the work, this may include sketches, color direction, reference gathering, or written notes before the final painting begins.
Because original paintings take time, commissions are not rushed. The timeline will vary depending on the size, complexity, and current studio schedule.
Pricing
Commission pricing will vary based on size, complexity, materials, and timeline.
When commission books open, I will share current pricing details and any available size options before applications are finalized. A deposit will be required to reserve your spot once your commission is accepted.
Be the First to Know
If you would like to be among the first to know when my commission books open, please join my email list.
This is where I will share commission openings, application details, pricing, timelines, and other studio updates.
Thank you for considering a commissioned painting.
It means so much to be trusted with something personal, meaningful, or still forming. My hope with every commission is to create a piece that feels both deeply connected to you and unmistakably alive within my body of work.

Jennifer Parisi
